Structural Engineer Role

 

  • We seek an experienced Structural Engineer to provide technical structural services for Draglines and Electric Rope Shovels, collaborating across all levels to deliver projects on time and with the highest quality.
  • The ideal candidate will diagnose and repair advanced structural failures, modifications, or upgrades, ensuring all work meets Caterpillar specifications and OEM standards.
  • Maintenance of compliance and accuracy is paramount; carrying out structural audit inspections in line with industry best practices.
  • As a key member of our team, you will provide supervision and technical guidance during customer outages and shutdowns to ensure safe and efficient delivery.
  • Plan and coordinate major repairs, including developing scopes of work, reviewing plans, and coordinating structural component repairs and overhauls.
  • Drive improvement initiatives, working alongside customer maintenance, reliability, and improvement teams to boost equipment performance and lifespan.

 

Key Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Trade-qualified Boilermaker/Boomwelder, with tertiary qualifications in Structural Engineering highly desirable.
  • IWI-S International Welding Inspector (Standard) qualification highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of material specifications and ability to tailor repair solutions.
  • Proven experience developing strategies, budgets, and work scopes for structural repairs and upgrades.
  • Experience overseeing repairs, managing third-party contractors, and ensuring work is completed to the highest standard.
