Senior Structural Engineer Opportunity

We are a leading specialist engineering consultancy with a strong focus on delivering innovative technical solutions to clients in the mining, marine, transport and heavy industries.

Our team combines advanced method structural analysis with our in-house material testing capability to solve complex problems and meet client needs.

This includes undertaking site inspections, auditing and physical testing of structures in varying conditions, allowing us to work with clients in managing the maintenance and operation of their assets as well as developing remediation designs for degrading structural components and elements.

We seek a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our busy Mackay team due to business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop structural design concepts including computer-based analysis of mining/marine/transport infrastructure structures with concrete and steelwork;
  • Work on critical projects with a key focus on safety and quality;
  • Liaise with clients as appointed contact for specific projects;
  • Conduct condition assessments, audits and surveys;
  • Liaise with staff members in other offices;
  • Other tasks as allocated by senior staff.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field;
  • At least 8 years' industry experience;
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in using structural analysis software packages such as SpaceGas and Strand7;
  • Sound knowledge and experience in structural design, analysis, project delivery and stakeholder management;
  • Understanding and/or experience on major construction projects;
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
  • Be currently residing in Australia and have unrestricted working rights;
  • Be fluent in written and spoken English to a professional level;
  • Experience in working with marine, mobile machines, bulk materials handling or shafts/tunnel assets;
  • Sound knowledge or experience with Cathodic Protection design and durability engineering.
