We are seeking an experienced Fitter General to join our client, Maxitrans, as a key member of their team. As a Fitter General, you will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform workshop repairs and maintenance on diesel equipment
- Conduct new machine pre-delivery preparation and inspection
- Ensure customer satisfaction through quality workmanship
- Adhere to safety and quality standards
- Provide cross-functional support to the team
Fault finding, repairs, and services will include:
- Diesel and petrol engines
- Diesel, petrol, and LPG fuel systems
- Steering systems
- Transmissions – hydrostatic, Powershift, and manual
- Brake systems
- Hydraulic valves and cylinders
- Electrical starting, charging, and accessories
- Service and diagnostic repairs
- Liaise with the spare parts team to determine the parts required for repairs
- Complete repair and services within reasonable time frames
- Process workshop service/repair documentation daily
- Work in a safe manner, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided and comply with the requirements of the current Occupational Safety and Health (OS&H) legislation
- Excellent interpersonal relationship and customer-focused skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Warm personality and open-minded approach
- Self-motivated and hard worker
- Good technical background experience
- Solid analysing and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot technical problems
- Good team spirit, experience working in a small team is an advantage
