Procurement Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the successful delivery of the procurement process on a large rail and infrastructure project.

This role is part of building Queensland's future, with the Faster Rail project playing an important role ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

  1. Manage and execute the sourcing process for all procurement activities within the scope of the project.
  2. Oversee the preparation of tender documentation, commercial evaluations, negotiation plans and contract approval to award documentation.
  3. Prepare tender packages, Requests for Quotation, tender evaluations and Recommendations for Approval.
  4. Negotiate and prepare contracts for award, working closely with the Delivery team.
  5. Facilitate and lead the internal evaluation process of submitted tender documentation.
  6. Lead the contract execution, kick-off and transition to contract administration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing multiple procurement packages and procurement teams on major construction projects.
  • Relevant tertiary or vocational qualifications.
  • CIPS or equivalent accreditation desirable but not essential.
  • Effective interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading a team, as well as decision making, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • A high standard for attention to detail.
