We are seeking an accomplished Senior Naval Architect to lead our engineering team and oversee the integrity of offshore structures.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct a team of engineers responsible for design inputs and installation engineering
- Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed analyses and design as per design basis, project specifications, design codes, and standards
- Evaluate installation loads on offshore structures to ensure structures are designed for safe installation
- Perform detail installation engineering calculations to confirm installation loads are within permissible capacities of installation equipment
- Apply expertise and knowledge to address complex problems and non-standard situations
- Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures
- Manage time effectively to meet objectives and forecast resource requirements
- Interface with all disciplines to develop clash-free designs
- Collaborate with other departments to obtain input for discipline designs and drawings
- Maintain close coordination with other engineering disciplines, planning, fabrication, marine, and project management teams
- Document substantive communications and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager
- Raise technical queries to obtain missing information and clarify work scope
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering design basis, philosophies, and technical specifications
- Participate in finalizing deliverable lists and deliverables, ensuring compliance with specifications and functional integrity
- Review project schedule and fabrication schedule in relation to construction sequence, milestones, and engineering scope
- 15-20 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant
- Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture (Master's preferred)
- Detailed knowledge of installation techniques and analysis methods
- Knowledgeable in project coordination and execution skills
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of naval architecture principles. They will be responsible for developing and implementing effective solutions to complex engineering challenges.
