About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Economic Strategist to join our Planning and Infrastructure Economics team at ESA. As an Economic Strategist, you will play a key role in helping us plan for our cities, regions, and infrastructure needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Provide Strategic Advice: Help our clients develop and prioritize infrastructure investments across various sectors, including housing, transport, education, and skills, health, energy, and decarbonization, water, and community infrastructure.
  2. Economic Modelling and Analysis: Undertake economic modelling and analysis, develop policies and strategies, deliver feasibility studies and business cases for infrastructure investments.
  3. Culture and Development: Contribute to sustaining our positive culture, which is integral to the success of our team, and be supported with tailored learning and development training opportunities.
  4. Flexible Work Environment: Work in a flexible environment across the Home, Office, and Client hubs.
Requirements
  1. Confidence in Economic Modelling: Be confident in providing economic modelling and analysis and strategic advice to help shape infrastructure investment decisions.
  2. Quantitative Analysis Experience: Have recent experience in quantitative analysis, cost-benefit analysis, geospatial analysis, data visualization, and/or model development.
  3. Passion for Community Outcomes: Have a passion for facilitating better community outcomes through enhanced infrastructure, assets, and places.
About You

We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and written communication skills, combined with high attention to detail. You will also have the ability to juggle competing demands and work as a team player in a dynamic and results-based environment.

Tertiary qualifications in economics, urban planning, commerce, business, law, public policy, or other relevant areas are essential. A strong interest and commitment in the use of technology and data to improve the way in which infrastructure projects are planned, delivered, and managed are also required.
