We are seeking a highly skilled Carpenter/Handyperson/Locksmith Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with trade qualifications and experience in domestic work and mining operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry, handyperson, and locksmithing skills, as well as excellent communication and relationship management skills. They will be responsible for undertaking day-to-day preventative maintenance activities and breakdown repairs in a safe and efficient manner to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and liveability in our Newman Residential Houses and Eco Villages.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake preventative maintenance inspections of plant and equipment;
  • Demonstrate an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development;
  • Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process;
  • Cultivate positive relationships through effective communication and consultation;
  • Take a proactive role in maintaining appropriate standards of behaviour;
  • Participate within the Housing Department to implement business plans consistent with site strategies / plans;
  • Monitor the Housing Maintenance work plan and elevate unplanned and non-routine activity or performance to the Supervisor;
  • Perform all aspects of planned, breakdown and shutdown activities in regard to housing maintenance;
  • Carry out system generated inspections.

Requirements:

  • Trade Qualification
  • Valid Australian C class driver's license
  • HIAB, EWP, Forklift, Working at Heights, Dogging and Rigging Certificates (Desirable)
  • Mix of experience in both Domestic work and Mining Operations
  • Computer Literacy to use the following systems - 1SAP, Fiori, MS Excel and Word
  • A proven track record of safety management
  • Must be able to work at a high standard autonomously
  • Must be able to work successfully in a team environment and assist other trades where required
