About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Work Education Teacher to join our team at Box Hill Institute. As a Work Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students with intellectual disabilities and/or cognitive impairments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver planned lessons using a variety of methods, including Moodle, to engage students and meet their learning styles and needs.
  • Provide a safe and supportive learning environment that enables students to successfully complete their qualification.
  • Support student success in Certificate I in Transition Education, Certificate I and II in Work Education, Course in and Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy courses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and materials.
  • Contribute to the development of the Work Education unit's curriculum and assessment frameworks.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or a higher teaching qualification in adult education.
  • Demonstrable expertise in teaching in the special education field, including experience in teaching learners with a range of permanent cognitive impairments/intellectual disabilities.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging and relevant course materials and lessons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Passion for knowledge sharing and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
