About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at GenesisCare in Bundaberg. As a key member of our Radiation Oncology nursing team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
  • Undertake direct patient care, including education, wound management, and medication administration as per Practice Protocol.
  • Effectively manage patients seen each day, facilitating effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physicists, and radiation therapists.
  • Ensure all patient interaction is documented, communicated, and actioned.
  • Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
  • Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
  • Use ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services along with documentation.

Requirements:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience (preferred).
  • Background in oncology nursing (not essential).
  • Training in radiation oncology nursing will be provided.
  • Exemplary interpersonal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement, including the NSQHS.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Experience in wound care management.
