**About the Role**
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at GenesisCare in Bundaberg. As a Radiation Oncology Nurse, you will be part of a small team delivering best practice nursing services in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring patients' physical and psychological needs are met.
- Undertake direct patient care, including education, wound management, and medication administration, in accordance with Practice Protocol.
- Effectively manage patient interactions, ensuring seamless communication with doctors, patient services, physicists, and radiation therapists.
- Facilitate effective lines of communication, providing feedback and up-to-date information regarding patients.
- Ensure all patient interactions are documented, communicated, and actioned.
- Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices, and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards.
- Ensure medication management protocols are followed.
- Utilize ISBAR communication tool for handover of patients and communication with allied health services, along with documentation.
- Demonstrate reliability, motivation, and flexibility.
**Requirements**
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years post-graduate experience (preferred).
- Background in oncology nursing (not essential); training in radiation oncology nursing will be provided.
- Exemplary interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate empathy for all patients and their carers.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to the application of best practice principles and quality improvement, including the NSQHS.
- Commitment to continuing professional development.
- Experience in wound care management.
