Job Title: Maintenance Support Officer

About the Role:

This is an opportunity to join our team as a dedicated and hands-on Schools Officer responsible for maintaining the school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the maintenance of facilities, including buildings, environment, and classroom;
  • Deliver and collect mail, parcels, and documents; record and deliver messages; print and photocopy;
  • Prepare classrooms for examinations; maintain various registers;
  • Support security duties, including use and maintenance of security systems; banking of school funds; locking and unlocking buildings within core hours;
  • Clean up drains and gutters; collection of waste; cleaning duties outside normal operating hours; removal and disposal of rubbish as required;
  • Assist with significant events such as fetes, plays, and major sporting events;
  • Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including maintenance of a safe work environment; safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers, and fuel; identifying and reporting safety hazards; managing equipment records; maintaining tools and equipment for repair services (per manufacturers' service manuals).

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Previous experience in a similar role;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks;
