Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Olympic Dam, one of Australia's largest mines. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing planned, unplanned, and breakdown maintenance activities within our highly skilled maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with and consistently follow safety procedures and standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Provide technical expertise to facilitate planned, unplanned, and breakdown maintenance, as well as preventative shutdown maintenance.
  • Develop close working relationships with operations personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and remedied promptly.
  • Provide regular feedback to the maintenance supervisor on job/task progress.
Requirements
  • Australian recognized Trade qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves at risk.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and functions.
  • Previous experience working within an operational maintenance environment.
  • Ability to operate across multiple work-fronts, ensuring a clean and tidy workplace.
  • Understanding of Quality Assurance principles and associated systems and practices.
