Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the planning and delivery of rehabilitation, maintenance, and safety improvement works across the region.

About The Role:

  • This senior role requires strong project management capabilities, technical expertise, and the ability to mentor staff while coordinating with a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the delivery of infrastructure maintenance and rehabilitation projects.
  • Act as the Principal's Representative on construction contracts and oversee procurement, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Provide high-level technical and engineering advice to ensure project success, value for money, and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and the community.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Champion safety and sustainability across all project phases.
Requirements:

You are a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) with significant experience managing road infrastructure projects, from design through to delivery.

Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement processes, and tender evaluation.

Leadership skills to lead multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.

Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders, manage expectations, and address public enquiries.

Mandatory Requirements:
  • A four-year Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent recognised by Engineers Australia).
  • RPEQ registration (or eligible and committed to obtaining it).
  • Current Class C driver's licence.
  • White Card (Construction Industry Induction).
  • Provision of suitable PPE.
