About the Role

This position plays a critical part in delivering specialist community-based psychosocial support services for people aged 16 years and older, with serious mental illness. The successful candidate will work within the recovery model, using a holistic, person-centered approach to support consumers in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized psychosocial support to consumers, working in collaboration with the recovery model and employing a holistic, person-centered approach.
  • Establish strong links with Aboriginal communities and individuals, identifying barriers and solutions to support the achievement of consumer goals.
  • Work as part of the Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) programs, delivering specialist community-based psychosocial support services.

About You

  • This is an identified position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, providing evidence of their identity and demonstrating the ability to work effectively with Aboriginal peoples and communities.
  • The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of significant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dates for celebration and memorial, as well as a Certificate IV in Community Services, Mental Health, Peer Work, or equivalent, and relevant experience in the field.
