About the Role

This is a part-time contract position working 28 hours per week (4 days). The role will be based in Uniting's Counselling and Mediation Centre in Wollongong, with availability to work in the centre on Wednesdays.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver Family Dispute Resolution (FDR) to families post-separation who are experiencing conflict and unable to reach agreements about children or property.
  • Provide FDR through online video appointments, legally-assisted mediation and child-inclusive practice.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of professionals to support families holistically.
Key Requirements
  • Accredited by the Australian Attorney-General's Department as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, or eligible for accreditation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, psychology or social work.
  • Understanding of child-inclusive mediation practice and family law legislation.
  • Knowledge of community services, particularly those relating to families experiencing relationship difficulties.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and contribute to a team; excellent communication, organisational and writing skills; computer literacy; ability to meet client targets.
