Job Opportunity

The Employment Mentor will play a pivotal role in guiding participants through the employment lifecycle, identifying goals and barriers, facilitating job-readiness training, collaborating with employers to create a supportive environment for success, and providing regular post-placement follow-up.

This is a dynamic, hands-on position that requires exceptional time management, initiative, and follow-through. The ideal candidate will possess a professional approach, with the ability to connect with both participants and employers, balancing empathy with accountability, communicating clearly and respectfully, taking ownership of responsibilities, and driving outcomes.

The Employment Mentor will:

  • Deliver one-on-one and group training sessions to build job readiness
  • Support participants in overcoming practical barriers such as transportation, documentation, and confidence
  • Maintain relationships with referral partners and support services
  • Proactively identify and engage with employers across various industries
  • Evaluate alignment between employer needs and participant capacity, and provide support to both throughout the placement
  • Provide ongoing mentoring, regular check-ins, and issue resolution
  • Monitor outcomes and contribute to reporting and program development

The successful candidate will be someone who genuinely wants to see people thrive, with pragmatic, empathetic, and solutions-focused skills. They will have the ability to adapt to the needs of individuals and situations, and be willing to travel across sites. A current driver's license and willingness to undergo a Working with Children Check and recent police check are essential.
