Child Psychologist Job Description

The role of the child psychologist is multifaceted and dynamic, involving a range of responsibilities to support the development and well-being of young clients.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing the needs of children and adolescents, providing coaching and strategies for caregivers to support their development.
  • Providing consultative support to families, working collaboratively with them to address their concerns and needs.
  • Conducting assessments and therapies for clients experiencing difficulties such as ADHD, ASD, anxiety, depression, OCD, grief and loss, and trauma.
  • Developing and implementing therapy plans, working in collaboration with other professionals and stakeholders.
  • Preparing reports for assessments and requirements.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Psychology.
  • Valid Australian Working Rights.
  • Current GENERAL AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience working within the NDIS system (desirable).
  • Proficient skills in complex assessment and report writing.
  • A valid Australian Driver License and Car.
