About the Role

This position involves leading the development and implementation of projects related to planning, environmental, and heritage statutory requirements within a government department. Key responsibilities include managing teams, assessing projects against legislative requirements, formulating project plans, policies, and solutions, contributing to issue resolution and escalation, research, analysis activities, and planning and monitoring activities.

You will work with a diverse and inclusive team in a flexible and agile working culture.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate heritage and planning applications and environmental matters across the Department to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and government policy.
  • Develop initiatives for implementation based on current projects and planning, heritage, and environment policy.
  • Provide guidance on statutory requirements to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and government policy, and share this information with staff and clients as required.
  • Contribute to the development of environmental and heritage policies, processes, and procedures for the division and Department.
  • Manage external sources of advice regarding planning, heritage, and environmental issues.
Essential Requirements
  • Hold tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in heritage, environment, or planning.
