We are seeking an exceptional Events Manager to join our team at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and dedicated hospitality professional looking to specialise in events and lead large teams to success.

  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring customer service standards are maintained, and provide effective leadership and direction to all event team members.
  • Plan events in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with clients regarding the details of their events.
  • E nsure compliance with responsible alcohol service policies at all catered functions.
  • Deliver pre-event briefings to team members.
  • Manage employee relations.
  • E nsure all team members work safely and adhere to safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Previous leadership experience in a large banqueting or food and beverage environment.
  • Experience coordinating exhibition/tradeshow-style catering.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, lead, and provide direction to a large team of 100+.
  • A current RMLV Certificate and Approved Manager Licence (or the ability to obtain them quickly), along with experience managing RSA compliance in a large venue.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience in developing and maintaining high customer service standards.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to multitask while maintaining a calm and efficient demeanour.
  • Impeccable personal presentation and the ability to instil the same standards in your team.
