Position Overview

Our team in south west Sydney is seeking a qualified Behavioral Support Specialist with current accreditation at the Proficient or Advanced level, as recognized by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist NDIS participants and their families in identifying needs through comprehensive assessments and individualized planning.
  • Design, implement, and assess evidence-based support strategies within a multifaceted support environment.
  • Create meaningful objectives and actionable strategies in alignment with the positive behavior support framework, focusing on minimizing restrictive practices.
  • Ensure that personalized plans resonate with participants' aspirations, interests, and strengths.
  • Empower families, caregivers, and support networks by enhancing their knowledge and capabilities.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, providing mentorship to junior Behavioral Support Practitioners.

Candidate Profile:
  • Significant experience as a Behavioral Support Practitioner with a registered NDIS provider or verified proficiency at the Proficient or Advanced level through the NDIS Commission.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated time management abilities.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for the disability sector and a commitment to mentoring peers.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to explore innovative approaches.
  • A desire for a collaborative and enjoyable work atmosphere.
Qualifications:
  • Current accreditation as a Behavioral Support Practitioner at the Proficient or Advanced level as confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • A degree in an allied health discipline is advantageous but not mandatory.
