Medical Advisor/Claims Specialist

The Medical Advisor/Claims Specialist plays a pivotal role in providing expert medical guidance and support to inform strategic business decisions.

  • To provide timely and accurate medical advice to the Claims Department and legal team, ensuring seamless integration with overall business objectives.

About the Role:

  • Deliver high-quality medical expertise to support claims management and mitigate risks.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of medical practices and industry trends, staying up-to-date on legislative reforms and emerging issues.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to enhance claims management services, leveraging analytical skills and collaboration with stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide comprehensive medical guidance and input into the definition and achievement of departmental plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Educate members, staff, and external stakeholders on medico-legal, clinical risk, and claims matters, promoting informed decision-making.

Requirements:

  • A Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialist qualification.
  • Postgraduate qualification in medicine, law, or insurance is preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of the medical industry and indemnity legal system.
  • Substantial experience in medical industry and clinical settings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities, demonstrating flexibility and proactive approach.
