Senior Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer to join our Central AI team at Atlassian. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the core infrastructure to support machine learning engineers and data scientists in developing, training, evaluating, deploying, and operating machine learning models and pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement large-scale distributed systems using Amazon Web Services (S3, Kinesis, Cloud Formation, EKS, AWS Security and Networking).
  • Develop and operate machine learning pipelines using Apache Spark.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal functionality of AI across various departments.
  • Lead other engineers to drive involved projects from technical design to launch.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer.
  • Fluency in at least one modern object-oriented programming language (preferably Java/Kotlin and Python).
  • Experience with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration.
  • Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
  • Sound understanding of machine learning projects lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert-level with search platform, deep learning training/inference platform.
  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Experience with scaling and deploying machine learning models.
