About the Role

The Senior Health, Safety, and Environmental Advisor is a key position that provides expert advice and support to the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Lead and team in driving HSE performance through alignment and delivery of programs and initiatives, and identification and management of HSE risks across the portfolio.

This role supports the leadership team in driving HSE performance and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of HSE management systems and be able to develop and implement effective HSE strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and support to the HSE Lead and team on HSE matters
  • Develop and implement HSE management systems and strategies
  • Identify and manage HSE risks across the portfolio
  • Support the leadership team in driving HSE performance and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and regulations
  • Monitor and interpret HSE legislation, policies, and regulations

Requirements:

  • 10 years' plus experience in a HSE role in a high-risk industry for major resources sites within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Chemical industries
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant HSE legislation, including AS/NZS 4801 and ISO 9001
  • Demonstrated capability to develop and implement HSE management systems
  • Experience in leading incident investigations, reporting, and presenting outcomes
  • Ability to manage multiple competing stakeholders' demands in a time-critical environment
  • Collaborate as part of a supportive high-performing team providing mentoring and coaching to individuals
