About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Rheinmetall Defence Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work with a leading defence company.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance and advisory services for logistics and armoured vehicles, delivering reliable, high-quality, and timely service support to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a fleet of light, medium, and heavy trucks/armoured vehicles (tracked and wheeled)
  • Servicing and repairing diesel engine and heavy trucks/equipment and all sub-system components from European manufacturers
  • Providing Maintenance Advisory Services as a subject matter expert on Rheinmetall products
  • Undertaking Acceptance and documentation of technical inquiries from customers/end users
  • Documenting work order information in the RDA ERP/ISSDB
  • Checking and monitoring the repair progress of supported vehicles and associated mission modules, turrets, and weapons(mission systems)
  • Resolving requests for warranty settlement topics being completed, accuracy, and plausibility
  • Performing technical investigations associated with faults or damages of equipment
  • Preparing reports associated with technical investigations, including technical inspection reports or technical briefs

Requirements:

  • +3 years' experience in maintaining a fleet of light, medium, and heavy trucks/armoured vehicles (tracked and wheeled)
  • Experience with maintaining turrets
  • Automotive diagnostic skills, specifically with European manufacturers
  • CANBUS experience
  • Conversant with current Land Materiel Safety Manual and ADF technical regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and supervision
  • Willingness to travel interstate and internationally for extended periods
  • Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required)
