Job Title: Senior Data Analytics Manager

The Role & Organisation:


This is a senior position in the Risk Analytics Business Unit with a focus on managing data assets.

It involves overseeing data source systems, risks and incidents, capturing, recording and progressing fixes for data issues to deliver timely data reporting.


The role also focuses on providing source to target mapping, working with developers to design and build up data assets meeting Group's Risk Reporting & Insights requirements.


Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Engage with business clients to understand data requirements, document business objectives, requirements in/out of scope, risks, issues and challenges.
  • Analyse source systems, existing Enterprise, Risk & other data sets to determine appropriate data sources that meet customer requirements.
  • Assess quality of determined data sets to identify gaps, issues and variances, and document them as technical findings.
  • Discuss technical findings with clients, help them accept variances or carry out more detailed analysis requested by customers until agreed and signed off by them.
  • Assist in defining data checks and reconciliations required to ensure quality of data solution delivered.
  • Prepare test scripts, perform testing of data assets prior to production rollout to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Perform UAT & PIV of clients' data assets for validity & accuracy to ensure output produced is in line with previous reporting periods.
  • Document and investigate, track data issues identified to closure.
  • Establish controls to ensure data produced is fit for purpose, test and validate performance of these controls.
  • Support and drive migration of legacy reporting processes to Tableau.

Requirements:
  • Solid understanding of Credit Risk ratios such as PD, LGD, EAD etc. and BASEL compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in SAS, R, SQL, PL/SQL, Hive and UNIX shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in relational databases such as Teradata, big data platforms, such as Hadoop and visualisation tools such as Tableau.
  • Effective communication skills to present in front of senior stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications well regarded.
