Lead Store Performance and Team

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Store Manager to join our team in Port Melbourne. As a key leader, you will be responsible for driving store success through profitability, excellent customer service, and effective merchandising practices.

A day in the life of a successful Store Manager at Haymes Paint includes:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to achieve sales and profit targets
  • Managing store expenses, including labor, inventory, and variable costs
  • Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to drive business growth
  • Maintaining high store standards, including visual displays, campaigns, and product offerings
  • Focusing on customer satisfaction through enabling product and store experiences
  • Recruiting, coaching, and developing new team members
  • Rostering and managing your team through regular feedback, motivation, and development
  • Ensuring a safe working environment and adherence to safety procedures
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Previous retail management experience with a strong desire to succeed
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a trusting team
  • Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships through excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence and organizational skills to delegate tasks and roles effectively
  • Experience servicing both trade and retail customers and growing a business
  • Demonstrated financial acumen, including understanding P&L reports, inventory management, rostering, and controlling expenses
  • Requirement for a driver's license and ability to perform manual tasks, such as lifting 15L cans of paint
  • Ability to effectively handle conflict and work under pressuring timelines
  • Ability to build a strong team, utilizing strengths and providing leadership where development is required

You may also have the opportunity to leverage your expertise in the following areas:

  • Prior knowledge of the paint and surface coating industry would be advantageous
  • Colour and design choices expertise

The estimated salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
