Senior Electrical Quality Assurance Engineer

The CPB Contractors, Ghella & UGL joint venture has secured the contract to deliver the $3.1bn M6 Stage 1 project, a significant infrastructure development that will enhance the Sydney motorway network, reducing traffic congestion and improving road safety.
The project scope includes the construction of twin four-kilometre tunnels and associated works, linking the M8 Motorway at Arncliffe to President Avenue at Kogarah.
The OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Electrical Engineer to join our Mechanical & Electrical team. This role will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and auditing of the CPB quality management system to ensure continual improvement of the scope of works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and monitoring compliance with the Project Management System and systems for data, document, and record management.
- Assisting the Quality Manager with the implementation of the Project Quality Management Plan and development of other project management plans.
- Monitoring Nonconformance reporting processes for trends and being involved in the investigation of significant NCR.
- Identifying, assessing, and controlling risks to project quality of product and rejecting non-conforming materials or products.
- Ensuring appropriate Quality requirements are included in project delivery documentation, including subcontractor and supplier packages.
- Reviewing and closing out work lot documentation and ensuring compliance to project specifications and standards.
- Performing regular process control audits (PCVs) to ensure compliance and suggesting improvements to the process.
- Assisting the Quality Manager with the development and implementation of project audit schedules and auditing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assisting project personnel with training in project electronic document management systems, project management systems, and other applicable quality systems.
- Providing guidance, support, coaching, and/or mentoring on quality-related matters/issues to Site and Project engineers, Foremen, and workforce.
- Preparing regular project reports showing progress towards achieving project Quality objectives, including identification of quality performance trends.
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in a discipline that develops critical thinking skills, such as Engineering or Science, or a Trade Qualification in a discipline related to construction.
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience, including experience as an auditor of construction quality management systems.
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role with quality management systems, planning techniques, and tools.
- Awareness of relevant Australian and International standards, both technical and those related to management systems.
- Good communication, consultation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Solid relationship building and high-level writing skills.
- Good presentation skills with the ability to demonstrate and train others.
The successful candidate will be required to hold a current Construction Industry Induction Card (White Card or equivalent) and undergo a medical assessment (including drug and alcohol testing) prior to commencement.
