The Role

A unique opportunity exists to join a well-regarded research team, supporting and being responsible for coverage in the Australian Industrial sector.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of the Australian Industrial companies.
  • Build, maintain, and update company models and statistics databases;
  • Write reports on individual companies and market sectors;
  • Respond to client requests for data and information;
  • Assist in designing and preparing analyst marketing materials;
  • Collaborate with domestic, regional, and global colleagues on research projects;
  • Develop relationships and interact with colleagues in research, sales, and trading, as well as institutional clients, investor relations, company management, and other industry participants;
  • Be responsible for analyzing individual companies and their equities within the Australian Industrial sector;
  • Produce regular reports summarizing findings and predictions, and contributing to overall sector views/pieces;
  • Develop financial models and interpret data and analysis on market, economic, and political events.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent academic record with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience – preferably in a banking, equity research, buy-side, or utilities/Industrial related field;
  • Excellent financial modeling skills and a solid grounding in financial/accounting fundamentals;
  • Ability to interpret and analyze company's financial statements, announcements, and industry news to write research reports from findings;
  • Meticulous attention to detail, self-driven to deliver results, and willingness to take responsibility for outcomes are essential for the role;
  • Highly motivated, proactive, curious, and high level of enthusiasm for equity research;
  • Demonstrated ability to think logically and creatively, generate ideas, and exercise good judgment.
