About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at the Department of Corrective Services. As a Prison Counsellor, you will work with individuals in custody to address a range of psychological and emotional issues, enhancing their overall well-being and promoting a positive and rehabilitative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive counselling services to individuals in custody, addressing mental health issues and promoting resilience.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct therapeutic assessments and interventions to support individuals in custody.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in Counselling or a related field.
  • Experience working in a correctional setting or with vulnerable populations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
