Job Opportunity

The Community Engagement Worker will be working with the Youth Community Mental Health Service, enhancing the capacity of our organization to provide treatment to young people who have complex mental health disorders.

This role is part of a team that provides a range of public mental health services to residents in a regional area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as a team member and contribute to team decisions
  • Develop a strong interest in mental health and well-being and desire for a career in the mental health sector
  • Provide support to patients and families/carers with high level needs
  • Engage with and hold sensitive discussions with patients, family/carers and health professionals

Requirements

  • Recently graduated health practitioner in nursing (Registered or Enrolled), Social Work or Occupational Therapy
  • Understanding of the range of issues experienced by people experiencing mental illness
  • Ability to work as a team member and contribute to team decisions
  • Computer literacy, including knowledge of office programs and the internet
  • A high level of administrative, logistic, schedule management, organisational, clinical documentation and time management skills
