Compliance Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Compliance Specialist to join our high-performing team. The successful candidate will provide specialized advice and expertise on compliance risk to the business units and wider Compliance & Risk team.

The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for providing timely, efficient, practical, and high-calibre compliance services to support the business achieve its strategic objectives. This includes:

  • Providing specialised advice on compliance risk to ensure that company activities are compliant with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Developing and maintaining a good knowledge and understanding of all laws and industry standards affecting the organisation's operations in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Supporting the Head of Compliance and wider Compliance team to develop and encourage a culture of compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience as a Compliance or Legal professional, with strong knowledge and understanding of compliance risk and compliance frameworks for businesses in regulated industries. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with competing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on compliant solutions in support of projects, product development & management and sales initiatives.
  • Interpret legislation and regulatory guidance, assess the impact and develop practical operational guidance and support.
  • Complete oversight activities designed to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of compliance risk and compliance frameworks for businesses in regulated industries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with competing priorities.
