Database Administrator

The role of the Database Administrator involves managing and maintaining the performance, security, and availability of databases that support a defence portfolio management and decision support tool. This includes administering, monitoring, configuring, upgrading, and installing Microsoft SQL Server databases to ensure the tool functions efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Services required to manage Support Tools Microsoft SQL Server databases including administration, monitoring, configuration, upgrade and install.
  • Maintain the performance and availability of databases storing information for The Support Tool.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and documentation for The Support Tools database.
  • Design and implement changes to The Support Tools databases to support new information requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 6 years experience as a DBA with extensive experience in developing documentation for development teams.
  • Experience delivering similar services within government.
  • NV2 Clearance (current).
