Job Opportunity: Support Services for Homeless Individuals

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Engagement Worker to join our team in providing support services to individuals experiencing homelessness.

The successful candidate will work on a part-time basis, supporting people who are sleeping rough or at risk of homelessness. This role involves delivering high-quality support services, building professional relationships, and meeting the unique needs of each individual.

The Safe Night Space program has been designed to provide a safe and culturally secure environment for women sleeping rough in Perth. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with individuals who may be facing complex challenges, including chronic homelessness, family and domestic violence, and mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver support services to individuals experiencing homelessness, including those who are chronically street-present, escaping family and domestic violence, or awaiting placement in transitional or long-term accommodation.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to develop and implement personalized support plans, taking into account their unique needs and goals.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of program initiatives, ensuring that services are responsive to the needs of the community and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities, enhancing skills and knowledge in areas such as trauma-informed care, housing first principles, and cultural safety.
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary package, aligned with Level 3 of the Enterprise Agreement (and the SCHADS Award), starting at $76,617, pro rata.
