We're seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term basis with the potential for extension. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members and customers in our new automated Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs) in Melbourne and Sydney.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the overall safety performance of the CFC and associated Spoke network
- Create and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work with CFC operations teams and key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
- Ensure Coles has the right framework of controls in place to mitigate risk
- Represent the business to state regulators and relevant industry bodies
- Provide clear and accurate reporting insights and frameworks to leadership teams
- Evaluate business risk reduction plans to ensure effectiveness
- Demonstrate due diligence in meeting legislative responsibilities
- Implement and lead safety and wellbeing initiatives from the National Safety Plan
We're looking for someone with a strong background in health and safety, critical risk reduction, traffic management, and transport safety. You'll need to have a proven record of achieving results and leading change in a fast-paced dynamic environment. A minimum qualification of Cert IV in Health and Safety or related discipline is required.
Key skills and experience include:
- Sound knowledge and experience in health and safety, critical risk reduction, traffic management, and transport safety
- Minimum 3 years working in an operational FMCG distribution centre, manufacturing, or automated environment
- Proven record of providing technical expertise and coaching at all levels
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship building capabilities
- Effective communication and influencing skills
