Experienced Trainer/Educator Required
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced trainer/educator to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing.
- Proven ability to train and educate young and older horses, with a focus on their physical and mental well-being.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instructions and feedback to other staff members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and open communication.
- Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses on riding pace/timed work and jump outs.
- Able to educate our young horses on the ground, plus swimming and barrier education.
- Able to prepare dietary requirements for the horses under their care.
- Able to apply veterinarian techniques and manage the health and well-being of the horses.
- Able to educate our young horses on the ground with ability to manage a small team of horses and staff under the direction of the head foreperson within a racing stable.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- At least three years of relevant experience in horse management.
- Strong knowledge of horse behavior and psychology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
