Seeking a Skilled Equine Professional

Job Description:

BEN AHRENS RACING is looking for a dedicated and skilled Horse Educator/Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for training and educating thoroughbreds at various stages of training, both riding trackwork and on the ground.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train and educate racehorses in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and report any issues identified in riding work and in stables affecting horses' progress.
  • Provide and maintain health care, nutrition, and well-being of horses.
  • Identify and treat minor injuries/health issues and report serious conditions to Trainer and Vets.
  • Manage and report data.

Requirements:

For this role, we are looking for an individual with a Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, as well as at least 3 years full-time or equivalent relevant experience. Additionally, we require proven knowledge and experience of horse handling and training methods specific to the thoroughbred racing industry, along with effective oral and written communication skills to provide information and advice to others and prepare reports.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III or equivalent international qualification.
  • At least 3 years full-time or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of horse handling and training methods specific to the thoroughbred racing industry.
  • Proven ability to train and educate racehorses.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to provide information and advice to others and prepare reports.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
