Job Title:

Global Operations Lead
  • A Global Operations Lead will be a key member of the Sydney-based team focused on delivering timely and effective domestic and international payments for the Cross Border business.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the APAC Operations Manager in building, overseeing and delivering an efficient and effective team that consistently demonstrates best-in-class Payment Processing service.

The scope of this role includes working alongside the APAC Manager and Global Operations to build an efficient, scalable payments and deals processing operation.

The ideal candidate will ensure payments reach our global clients and beneficiaries in a timely manner with the highest degree of data accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Validating payment data, ensuring all relevant information has been obtained and local routing requirements and regulations are met.
  • Providing subject matter expertise on international and domestic payments, and payment related schemes and systems.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal teams and stakeholders; Working closely with internal units to improve service delivery and workflow efficiency.
  • Participating in the settlement process of spot and forward orders adhering to specific client details in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Handling 2nd level escalations in a professional manner.
  • Driving the team's performance to deliver within payment cutoffs and expected Service Level Agreements.
  • Delivering results through effective team management, structure, and routine.
  • Training and supporting Operations Associates on a continuous basis and driving a culture of continuous performance- know and develop the team through coaching and feedback.
  • Accountability in managing a team of employees providing effective performance management practices.
  • Supporting management in audit requests, refining procedures, and defining service level agreements.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with existing banking partners.
  • Championing data driven decision-making and removing obstacles to optimize operations.
  • Leading and encouraging the identification, escalation and resolution of potential risks.
  • Inspecting and challenging risk controls, governance and culture to ensure the timely identification, escalation, debate and remediation of risk across processes supported.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of international and domestic payments, and payment related schemes and systems.
