Key Operations Role

The Operations Manager is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the quarrying and sand processing activities at our organisation. The primary focus is to lead the team in producing a range of graded sands, organic blends, and soils on a recently upgraded and expanded dredging and classifying plant.

The successful candidate will have an engineering or advanced trade qualification, or significant experience in quarrying operations. They will possess strong planning and management skills to optimise output of multiple production lines simultaneously, as well as a strong understanding of Lean principles and a record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

A strong record of improving safety and embedding supporting management systems is also essential. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience with operating a wide range of processing, pumping, screening, and automatic packing equipment, as well as good commercial acumen and an assertive and fair leadership style.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for providing management oversight of operational activities, including ongoing direct oversight of the Townsville factory and providing support to the General Manager as needed for other factories.

  • Engineering, Advanced Trade qualification, or significant quarrying experience

The Operations Manager will work closely with the General Manager to achieve organisational goals and objectives. This includes expanding operational and product range scope, seeking new opportunities for expansion, and maintaining a culture of work smart, making quick decisions, and treating colleagues and staff with respect.
