Job Title: Senior Food Technologist

Overview of the Role

Our business is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Food Technologist to lead the development and innovation of new products across multiple categories. This role requires collaboration with our Product Development team, providing expertise in product and process management.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Overseeing the entire product development lifecycle from raw material sourcing to product launches
  • Serving as an expert on product and process to address troubleshooting and stakeholder enquiries
  • Managing design and execution of testing for new products
  • Leading and training junior staff members and providing ongoing support
  • Coordinating and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution and delivery
  • Identifying opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction, and operational improvements
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess 6+ years' experience in R&D/NPD roles and at least 2 years in a Senior Product Development position within Food Manufacturing or FMCG Manufacturing environments. A Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science or Food Technology is also required.

Desirable qualifications include experience in product categories such as sauces, mayonnaise, condiments, dry powders, and liquid blending. Strong project management skills, including leadership of cross-functional teams and the ability to deliver complex projects on time and within scope are essential.

  • In-depth knowledge of FSANZ, HACCP, GMP, and SQF programs and regulations is necessary to ensure compliance
  • Solid leadership capability with a focus on leading by example, mentoring, and providing clear direction for junior staff
