We are seeking an exceptional professional to lead the design and development of high-performance Fiber Optic Gyroscopes (FOGs).

Job Title: Senior Optical Engineer - FOG Specialist

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of FOG physics, including the Sagnac effect and associated phenomena.

This is a key role in advancing our FOG technology, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product development and integration.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing FOGs and related systems for exceptional performance and reliability
  • Developing and refining manufacturing processes for FOGs, focusing on scalability to large production volumes
  • Analyzing test data, troubleshooting issues, and implementing solutions to enhance FOG performance and reliability
  • Collaborating with software, hardware, and production teams to ensure smooth product development and integration
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in FOG technology, photonics, and relevant manufacturing techniques

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in the field of Fiber Optic Gyroscopes
  • Strong theoretical and practical understanding of FOG physics, including the Sagnac effect and associated phenomena
  • In-depth knowledge of photonics, including light sources, optical fibers, couplers, modulators, and detectors relevant to FOGs
  • Solid background in electro-optical systems design and integration
  • Demonstrable experience with manufacturing processes for optical or precision electro-mechanical systems, particularly with an understanding of challenges related to large-scale production
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
