
Epidemiology Research Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team in a research support role.
The successful candidate will work within the Population Child Health research group, supporting research services and developing novel research by increasing quality publication output and grant income with the aim of improving the health, wellbeing and development of children and young people locally, nationally and internationally.
Responsibilities- Provide statistical and epidemiological support for intervention-based studies and grant applications.
- Conduct research activities, including surveys, literature reviews, data collection and recording results using appropriate research methods under the guidance of a research leader.
- Support dissemination of research outcomes through suitable channels, and present at conferences and/or workshops.
- A PhD in Epidemiology/Statistics or related discipline, and/or an appropriate level of expertise gained from experience, training and/or professional accreditation.
- Competency in statistical software, preferably R, SAS and/or Stata, and previous experience working with large data sets.
- Experience in design and evaluation of trials would be beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
- Proven ability to undertake high-quality academic research (including study design, grant writing, and ethics applications) and conduct independent research with limited supervision, managing priorities and attention to detail.
- Commitment to keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Understanding of relevant policies and guidelines.
