Social Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate wellbeing support worker to join our team. The focus of this role is to provide mental health and wellbeing support to students facing various challenges.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing student needs, developing care plans, connecting clients with resources and services, advocating for their rights, and offering emotional support.
This is a progressive position as per the role description. The successful applicant will be appointed to a lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated.
About The Role- Provide professional support and information for students, parents, carers, and school communities that facilitate partnerships in decision-making for enhancement of all students' learning.
- Use evidence-based intervention strategies to support young people experiencing challenges with mental health, social, and emotional wellbeing.
- Provide therapeutic counselling and support through individual or group sessions to address mild to moderate mental health concerns.
- Facilitate referrals to other allied health professionals and services and assist students and families to access this support.
- Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as a part of the school response team.
- Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within an educational setting, providing support to school, family, and inter-agency networks relevant to the position.
