Job Overview

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for delivering accurate and efficient end-to-end payroll services to approximately 150 employees on a weekly basis.

  • Process weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees across multiple awards and agreements.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and application of relevant awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Liaise closely with the wider finance team and internal stakeholders to support seamless payroll operations.
  • Act as the key point of escalation for complex payroll issues.
  • Administer ad hoc payments and ensure timely statutory reporting, reconciliations, and compliance.
Key Skills And Experience
  • Proven experience in high-volume payroll environments, ideally with exposure to shift work, overtime, and multiple industrial instruments.
  • A strong understanding of award interpretation is essential. Experience with relevant construction-related awards (e.g. Building and Construction or BEMS) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using various payroll systems; experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Comfortable managing challenging conversations and resolving payroll queries promptly and professionally.
  • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
