Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure nuclear safety, security, and safeguards in the design, construction, and operation of submarine-supporting infrastructure.

About the Role:

  • You will support design, construction, and commissioning phases with nuclear engineering expertise.
  • You will participate in assurance and compliance activities, contributing to licensing documentation.
  • You will collaborate with NSQEPs, engineering teams, and external stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • You will identify and implement improvements in nuclear facility engineering processes and documentation.
  • You will assist in identifying and managing nuclear-related risks associated with facility build and operations.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in nuclear, defence, or highly regulated engineering environments.
  • Knowledge of nuclear safety, security, and safeguards principles.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering, requirements management, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Experience in submarine or naval programs.
  • Exposure to safety case development and licensing submissions.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
