About the Role

At Canon, we are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our PMO team. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality projects, both externally and internally, while being accountable to clients and stakeholders. The PMO Manager will play a critical role in delivering outstanding customer service by providing dedicated, focused, and specialist Project Management services to meet agreed objectives and delivery timelines.

The successful candidate will have experience leading projects across a range of technologies, including Security, Modern Applications, Data & AI, and Modern Infrastructure. This is a permanent role that may be based out of multiple locations within Australia and reports to the Head – PMO & Consulting.

Main Duties

  1. Ownership of project outcomes and timely delivery of projects
  2. Manage project stakeholders through effective communications to set the right expectations
  3. Be responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of projects
  4. Effectively work with stakeholders to shape priorities, report progress, and respond to challenges.
  5. Manage customer projects following a defined project management methodology and approach
  6. Effectively maintain a resource and project implementation plan for each project assigned
  7. Establish milestones and manage adherence to project plans and schedules
  8. Identify and proactively manage any project risks and issues
  9. Ensuring that project decisions, changes, exceptions, issues, and risks are managed and recorded

Key Requirements

We are looking for someone with a successful background in leading impactful projects and has exposure to a diverse range of industry sectors. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage multiple projects of complex nature simultaneously and are a natural at customer relations. Key Skills & Experience include:

  1. Minimum 5 years' experience as a customer-facing Project Manager delivering complex IT security, infrastructure, and/or software application projects across mid-market and enterprise environments
  2. Experience leading projects using Agile or Iterative development methodologies
  3. Working knowledge and certified in a Project Management methodology, eg PRINCE2, Agile
  4. Strong understanding and application of quality assurance practices
  5. A growth mindset and can work independently and in collaboration
  6. Problem Solver and critical thinking
  7. Relationship building and can connect with peers and stakeholders; customers and colleagues
  8. Trustworthiness and Reliability
