Research Opportunities in Environmental Science

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD graduate student to contribute to a project that integrates hydrological measurements, contaminant concentrations, microbial profiles, and land use data.

The research aims to identify contaminants of concern and assess their toxicity and ecological risks by linking observed concentrations with ecotoxicological thresholds for relevant species. Key research questions include:

  • What are the ecological risk profiles for key flora & fauna species in flood-affected nonurban landscapes?
  • How can land use, hydrological data, & contaminant profiles be used to understand and predict ecological risks during flood events in nonurban landscapes?
  • How do flood-driven microbial dynamics inform environmental risk assessments for antimicrobial resistance (AMR)?

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your research skills, work with a talented team, and make a meaningful contribution to the field of environmental science.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in agricultural, veterinary, or environmental sciences
  • Excellent research skills and experience with data analysis
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
