About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Multicultural Child Protection Specialist to join our team in South Western Sydney. As a key member of our community outreach program, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and families from diverse backgrounds.

Your primary focus will be on responding to reports of child harm or safety concerns, working collaboratively with parents, family members, and other agencies to develop effective safety plans and conduct thorough risk assessments.

As a specialist in cross-cultural work, you will utilize your expertise to support families from African communities, providing culturally sensitive and respectful services that address their unique needs.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to social justice, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to reports of child harm or safety concerns
  • Develop and implement safety plans in collaboration with families and other agencies
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide supportive services to families
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Social Science, Community Welfare, or related field
  • Experience working with vulnerable children and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Valid Australian driver's license and willingness to drive
  • Working with Children clearance number

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: $75,992 - $104,994 per annum

Salary Package:

$92,494 per annum (base salary) plus superannuation and annual leave loading.

This is a full-time position based in South Western Sydney. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a Working with Children check and obtain accreditation through the Community Language Assistance Scheme, if applicable.
