About the Role

As a Cultural Support Specialist with the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people from diverse backgrounds. Your primary focus will be on responding to reports of potential harm or safety concerns, working collaboratively with families, communities, and other agencies to develop effective safety plans and conduct thorough risk assessments.

Your expertise in cross-cultural communication and your ability to work sensitively and respectfully with people from various ethnic backgrounds will be essential in this role. You will be working primarily with African communities, and proficiency in relevant languages is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families, as well as experience working in a child protection environment. A degree in Social Work, Social Science, Community Welfare, or a related field is required, along with a valid Australian driver's licence and a willingness to drive.

We offer a competitive salary range of $75,992 - $104,994 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
