The Assistant Claims Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless resolution of claims. This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent customer experience, and a commitment to continuous improvement to deliver on customer claims promises.
Responsibilities include:
- Proactively managing complex/high-value Accident and Health claims from start to finish.
- Providing technical support and guidance to claims assessors and operations teams.
- Developing and implementing business improvement initiatives that drive business outcomes.
- Oversight and support for Return to Work frameworks in conjunction with stakeholders.
- Acting as a point of escalation for escalated claims, customer concerns, and complaints.
- Offering ongoing training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.
- Supporting new and ongoing projects within the team.
- Oversight of claims float top-up processes, including audits.
- Managing emergency assistance cases daily, including responding to routine enquiries from external providers.
- Prior experience working with medical emergency assistance providers is essential.
As an Assistant Claims Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Managing a portfolio of claims and ensuring their timely resolution.
- Working closely with claims assessors and operations teams to provide technical support and guidance.
- Developing and implementing business improvement initiatives to drive business outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks such as FSRA, Privacy Act, and General Insurance Code of Practice (GICOP).
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years' experience in General Insurance, Travel/PA Claims, or a similar line.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- A high level of attention to detail, prioritization, and multi-tasking ability.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to set and meet service levels and individual KPIs.
- Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with business leaders and establish professional relationships across the enterprise.
