Job Title: Data Governance & Compliance Manager

">Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance & Compliance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our AI and data governance frameworks, ensuring the quality and integrity of our data assets, and driving privacy compliance.

">About the Role

The Data Governance & Compliance Manager will work closely with senior leaders to implement and maintain critical frameworks that enable ambitious innovation while upholding the highest ethical standards and robust privacy protections.

">Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Governance: Hands-on implementation and maintenance of AI and data governance frameworks.
  • Champion Data Integrity: Support management of key data assets, ensuring quality and integrity fit for purpose.
  • Drive Privacy Compliance: Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) for new projects, ensuring obligations under the Privacy Act and APPs are met.
  • Manage Risk: Identify and mitigate risks associated with data privacy and responsible AI use.
  • Collaborate and Educate: Partner with teams across the business to embed a 'Privacy-by-Design' culture and contribute to training programs.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in data privacy, data governance, or technology risk.
  • A strong, practical understanding of the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
  • Hands-on experience conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).
  • An understanding of data management principles, including data quality and lifecycle management.
  • A solid grasp of AI concepts and associated privacy challenges.
Desirable Skills & Experience
  • Experience working within the media, entertainment, advertising, or technology industries.
  • Familiarity with data governance roles and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI governance, safety, or ethics frameworks.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
